Some believe it is an effort to push his upcoming single while many including us remain baffled.
There’s no question that Justin Bieber is a huge music star, kind of like Taylor Swift and is music royalty – for young fans in particular.
But, while Taylor Swift collaborated with Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie to create ‘Me’ – a colorful, fantastical music video backed by a catchy bubble gum pop song that has now become a guilty pleasure – Bieber has challenged actor Tom Cruise to a fight.
At first, Justin Bieber posted on his Twitter, “I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you don’t [sic] take this fight you’re [sic] scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite?”
This was followed by UFC star Conor McGregor tweeting, “If Tom Cruise is man enough to accept this challenge, McGregor Sports and Entertainment will host the bout. Does Cruise have the sprouts to fight, like he does in the movies? Stay tuned to find out!”
Now of course, we all know that Tom Cruise does most of his stunts himself as proven by Mission Impossible films where he does his own death-defying stunts so why does Justin want to fight him? It could be because he is promoting his upcoming single or he has some issues such as unaddressed rage?
Now if that wasn’t baffling enough, UFC star McGregor challenged actor Mark Wahlberg to a fight as well. “I challenge Mark Walhberg [sic] on the very same card. Back when mark wahlberg was marky mark, I’d have still slapped the ears off him and took my ufc shares back.”
What is up with celebrities these days? Dark Phoenix is slated to lose millions of dollars and stars want to fight other stars in the freaking ring. Condoning violence is never a good idea, and we hope neither Tom nor Mark take these baits seriously.
We’d rather see Tom or Mark dancing in a Taylor Swift video anyday rather than this bout of violence.
