Director of last year’s critically and commercially acclaimed feature film, Cake that recently made it to Netflix, Asim Abbasi is gearing up for his next. He recently took to social media and announced that he is returning to set for the shoot of his second film that will have some of the crew members from Cake, in addition to some new ones.
“Last time I was on set was May 2017 for Cake’s London spell,” he recalled. “Two years and one film later, I will be on set from tomorrow for a long, long stretch. Beyond the butterflies in my tummy and the sick in my mouth, I am not sure what I feel right now. But I sure am grateful to be reunited with my old film family – Mo Azmi, Aarij, Faiz, Zoobia, Samiya, Zarmeen, Nadeem, Zeeshan, Syed Mehdi and some top-class new additions Saqib, Shahrukh, Sana, Owais and Nabil. Thank you for making the last four months of prep possible!”
“Here’s to hoping that we manage to tell this story as unabashedly, shamelessly, and provocatively as it deserves to be told,” he added.
Let’s see what Asim holds in store for viewers this time but right now, we are looking forward to the upcoming Lux Style Awards 2019 where his first film, Cake, has bagged multiple nominations including one for him.
