Instep rounds up this weekend's hot and happening activities.

This weekend, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s 3 Bahadur: Rise of the Warriors, the third and final installment in the animated series, releases across the country. The film that premiered in Lahore on Wednesday, followed by its Karachi premiere last night, features Mehwish Hayat as Erma and Nimra Bucha as Babushka – two new additions to the cast. Other voice artists include Behroze Sabzwari, Fahad Mustafa, Sarwat Gilani and Khalid Malik. It is a story of friendship, courage and team work that follows the journey of three superheroes.

Shazia Ali Khan’s Pinky Memsaab is also running in cinemas across Pakistan and Dubai while some of the Pakistani films that released earlier this year have also returned to cinemas recently. They have been allotted limited shows alongside Bollywood films such as Sara Ali Khan’s debut project Kedarnath and Thugs of Hindostan.

Food & Music

The second season of Coca Cola Food Festival is scheduled to hit Karachi starting from today. Coke Fest will take place at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park and will offer a wide variety of cuisines from different regions of the world. The lineup of artists who will performing live at the three day event (December 14 -16) include Josh, Asim Azhar, Ali Sethi, Sahir Ali Bagga, Aima Baig, Quadrum, Farhan Saeed, Waqar Ehsin and others. Tickets are available at the venue.

After the success of Metro Carnival 2016, Karachi Carnival 2018 is back with food, fun and music for children and families this December. Starting from today, the two-day event will have activities for children, food for the attendees as well as qawali night and concert by Asim Azhar.

Comedy

Scheduled to take place tomorrow night at T2F in Karachi, Comedy Scene: Hot Mic Night is sure to give you some good laughs this weekend. It is a family-friendly comedy night featuring a group of stand-up comedians comprising Aurangzaib Alamgir, Atiya Uthmani, Ali Abdullah, Kashif Shahzad, Muhammad Ehsan, Najam Akber and Usman Khan Ghauri. Tickets worth PKR 300 will be available at the venue while the event will be hosted by Hasan Zia.

Also taking place this weekend in Lahore is Comic Conference 20 at Alhamra Arts Council. Hosted by Shah Fahad, the event will feature Lahore’s finest comedy troupe, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Comedy PTC that includes artists like Ali Ahmad Khan, Bilal Asif, Arzu Fatima, Sarmed Aftab, Shehryar Ahmed and Shaan Lashari. Scheduled to take place tomorrow, this will be the 12th edition of Drama Ed’s Comic Conference and is called Mazahyia Ijlaas – the best sketch, stand-up and improv comedy.
