Mohammad Ehteshamuddin’s upcoming period drama Aangan is certainly one of the most anticipated TV plays to come out this year. The play features some of industry’s leading actors including Ahsan Khan, Ahad Raza Mir, Sajal Aly, Mawra Hocane, Sonya Hussyn and others and is scheduled to go on air on December 13. The recently released teasers look promising and hint at a very unique way of storytelling, with each actor bringing in old school vibes given that the play is based around the partition era.
Ahsan Khan recently shared his thoughts on Aangan via a Facebook post.
“Aangan offers a mosaic of very rich characters, wherein no one person is more important than the other,” he shared. “Each one contributes to the beauty of the entire mosaic and no one stands out on his own. I think Aangan is bigger - much bigger, to be honest - than the sum of its parts. The actors have not tried to use their star power, or even their histrionic abilities, to stand out and compete with each other, or with the serial. And therein lies the beauty of the performances. They cannot, and should not, be evaluated as individual performances; the proper way to appreciate them is to look at their contribution to the wonderful story. Just as a single piece that shines more than the others in a mosaic would ruin the entire work.”
