Imran Malik, who made his directorial debut with patriotic film Azaadi, is all geared up for his next project. Reportedly, the director has signed Chinese actor Zhu Zhu, who made her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan-starrer Tubelight, for his film, titled My Heart is in China that will be shot in Lahore and China.

“China has a potential to be one of the biggest markets for Pakistani films,” said Imran Malik in a recent interview. “And I have just the right script, which will not only entertain people on both sides but will further strengthen the relationship between both countries.”

While Imran Malik’s first film, that featured the new age comeback of Moammar Rana, along with Sonya Hussyn and Nadeem Baig, was about the struggle of freedom fighting in Kashmir, his upcoming project is a love story.

However, the director still hasn’t announced the male lead for My Heart is in China.

This is not the first time that a Chinese actor has been roped in for a Pakistani film; last year Canadian-Chinese actor Kent S. Leung made his debut with Umer Adil’s Chalay Thay Saath that stars Syra Yousuf, Mansha Pasha, Zhalay Sarhadi, Faris Khalid and Osama Tahir in pivotal roles.

Produced under the banner of Pervez Malik Films, My Heart is in China is slated to go on floors later this year.
