Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan join forces for Sadaf Fawad Khan’s latest Bridal 2018 collection.

Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan created a beautiful sort of chemistry in their 2011 TV serial Humsafar. Since then, fans have been waiting to see the two actors together. And they have been afforded some opportunities including endorsements such as one Lux commercial where the two showcased what a modern romance can look like. They also walked the ramp together at a fashion week a couple of years ago and that image too had fans riveted.

A lot has happened since their Humsafar days. Both actors have made their respective Bollywood debuts; Mahira with Raees (starring Shah Rukh Khan) and Fawad with Khoobsurat (2014) for which he won a Filmfare award. Fawad went on to star in Kapoor & Sons (2016) followed by a strong cameo in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil while Mahira has, since her Humsafar days, starred in a number of Pakistani films including last year’s controversial Shoaib Mansoor film, Verna.

Both actors will be working together for the first since Humsafar in the upcoming Bilal Lashari film, Maula Jutt but until it releases, fans of the pair can see them share electric chemistry once more as they have appeared on the cover of Brides Today. In the exclusive shoot, both actors are clad in Sadaf Fawad Khan designs.

Fawad Khan has been ambassador of the brand for some time but roping in Mahira Khan is clearly a master stroke. Speaking to Aamna Haider Isani, Sadaf Fawad revealed her decision to rope in the country’s biggest female star.

“Fawad and Mahira both are successful and strong individuals who represent the brand’s values perfectly,” said Sadaf.

She added: “Mahira will be sporting a completely different look from anything she’s done in the past. We are glad that she experimented with us and the result is phenomenal. Fawad’s look compliments hers. He will also be seen a little tanner and wilder.”

Though one wouldn’t wish to objectify actors, male or female, it must be said that this pairing, in this avatar, look very much like the stars of today and the future.
