25 episodes into the play, the Feroze Khan and Sana Javed-starrer Khaani has been consistently topping the ratings chart ever since it went on air. According to Medialogic Pakistan, Khaani is among the top 10 TV plays that received highest ratings last month.
Directed by Anjum Shahzad, Khaani follows the lives of Mir Hadi (Feroze) and Khaani (Sana) who share more of a love-hate relationship in the play. Coming from an influential political background, Mir Hadi gets away with the murder of Khaani’s twin brother (Sarym) whom he kills in broad daylight. Though Khaani and her family end up surrendering to Mir Hadi due to their power and politics, Khaani’s words and actions hit Mir Hadi so hard that his guilt doesn’t let him live in peace. He falls in love with Khaani who refuses to forgive him and marries another man Arham. In the most recent episode, upon learning about Sarym, Arham decides to reopen the case and punish the culprit while Mir Hadi has left his home and seeks refuge at a shrine. Whether he surrenders this time or gets away with the charge once again, we’ll have to wait and see.
Apart from Khaani, other top rated plays in the list include Ghar Titli Ka Par, Ishq Tamasha, Baydardi and Bela Pur Ki Dayan.
