It is said that Hollywood had been trying to make a film on Queen front-man Freddie Mercury for some time. It looks like that goal is about to be accomplished as a film on the iconic singer is on its way. Titled Bohemian Rhapsody after a song from the group, it features Mr. Robot star Rami Malek as the singer.

Footage from the upcoming film was also shown at the most recent edition of CinemaCon in Las Vegas. “I thought when I got the part that this could be a career-defining performance. Then I thought, ‘This could be a career-killer if I don’t get it right’,” Malek told the audience at Caesars Palace.

According to Variety, the exclusive footage shown in Vegas included performances of Queen numbers such as ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘We Are the Champions’. “What always had me was his ability to give people the ability to embrace their imperfections,” Malek said about Mercury.

Producer Graham King, also present at CinemaCon, revealed that the movie is set to release on November 2. He added: “This is a story that has something for everyone. Freddie Mercury connected like only a handful of performers have ever done. I am so humbled to be part of Queen’s legacy.”It has to be said that Malek, who has won an Emmy for his performance in Mr. Robot, holds striking resemblance to the real Mercury in the pictures that have emerged from the film. Though Sacha Baron Cohen was originally cast in the role, he left the film in 2013 making room for Malek. The director of the film has also changed since production first began. After Bryan Singer was fired as director for being absent from the production on several occasions, Dexter Fletcher was roped in, as director.
