In 2002, Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali gave a spectacular film together, Devdas. It was their only film together. With Sanjay Leela’s Padmaavat doing great at the box office, rumours have it that he is keen on signing Shah Rukh Khan for his upcoming project. Reports suggest that Bhansali was keen on casting Shah Rukh in the role of Sahir Ludhianvi, his next film after Padmaavat.
Some reports suggest that Deepika Padukone might play his heroine while others claim that Kangana Ranaut will be SRK’s heroine in Bhansali’s next.
However, nothing has materialized as yet. And it looks like another Bhansali-SRK film is not meant to be.
According to a report in DNA though, SRK has politely declined an offer from the ace filmmaker stating that the two have discussed a few scripts but nothing has caught King Khan’s fancy as yet.
Last year, SRK revealed in an interview that he had been offered two scripts by Bhansali and he was not sure which movie he was going for. But later Shah Rukh Khan refused Bhansali’s offers.
Also, there were reports that the part of Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat was first offered to SRK but due to prior commitments he turned down the offer.
Currently, Shah Rukh Khan is busy shooting for Aanand L. Rai’s Zero alongside Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles. The superstar will be essaying the role of a dwarf in the movie, which will release around Christmas 2018.
