Shaheen Airline joins hands with Pakistan’s premier award ceremony to provide a special chartered flight to 150 industry experts, as the LSAs head to Lahore.
The 17th edition of the Lux Style Awards, Pakistan’s premier contemporary award ceremony that recognizes and celebrates excellence in the fields of television, film, music and cinema, is all set to take place next week, on February 20, in the beautiful city of Lahore.
As the Lux Style Awards head to the cultural metropolis, a special chartered flight will take 150 industry experts including artists, stars, nominees and media persons for the ceremony at hand from Karachi.
Shaheen Air has partnered with the Lux Style Awards to provide this special chartered flight and will also be serving special cuisine, we were told. Good food and good company, the road to the LSAs will certainly be an interesting one.
According to our sources, among those who will be present on the flight include artists such as Ahad Raza Mir, Jawed Sheikh, Mawra Hocane, Adnan Malik, Zhalay Sarhadi, Kashmir (music group), Abid Brohi, Lyari Underground, Mooroo, Sikandar Ka Mandar, ESharp, Shuja Haider, Zohaib Kazi and Saqib Malik, amongst others.
Fashion’s big names such as Deepak Perwani, Sania Maskatiya, HSY and Amir Adnan will also be onboard.
During the flight, jam sessions featuring some of the music nominees may also take place and there is room for fun and games as well.
As for the rest of it, LSA 2018 ceremony will not only be a somber one given the state of affairs in the country but will also be the space where the #MeinBhi campaign will be launched. The brainchild of Freiha Altaf, #MeinBhi was born in the aftermath of the rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl in Kasur whose tragic death shook up everyone including the artist community. Consequently, Altaf, along with Maheen Khan and Nadia Jamil, took to Twitter and courageously shared personal stories of suffering through sexual abuse as children. As Altaf told Instep, #MeinBhi is a pledge to do more and inspire others to do so as well.
In performances, one major artist who will take the stage this year will be Sahir Ali Bagga, who will be making his LSA debut with a special qawwali.
Among awards, Frieha Altaf and Naheed Siddiqui will reportedly receive Lifetime Achievement nods and, if reports are to be believed, Vasay Chaudhry and Ahmed Ali Butt will bring the funny by penning some segments of the upcoming show. The road, or rather the flight, to the show promises to be just as memorable!
