Haroon Rashid, it appears, has picked up the cause of animated movies. Burka Avenger was named one of the most Influential Fictional Characters of 2013 by Time magazine, it picked up an Emmy nomination and the animated series really marked a new beginning for animation in Pakistan. Now creators of Burka Avenger, musician Haroon Rashid and production house Unicorn Black, are coming out with another animated series called Teetoo and Tania.
A short teaser for the cartoon shows a young girl gearing up to save planet Earth from an alien invasion, and by the looks of it the cartoon boasts of a seemingly high-quality animated experience. A notable common aspect of the two series, other than its creative production team of course, is also the fact that both focus on the young female protagonist, aiming to empower young girls in Pakistan.
We do love how animation is picking up steam in Pakistan. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s 3 Bahadur was very inspirational and the upcoming Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor also looks like a fun message to save endangered animals in the country. Usman Riaz’s The Glass Worker is on another level altogether.
Meanwhile Teetoo and Tania will air every Thursday at 6:10 pm on PTV from November 30, 2017.
