In the coming weeks, we will be seeing the release of several films dabbling in a number of genres. While Gohar Rasheed, Bilal Ashraf and Urwa Hocane-starrer Rangreza is a message-oriented musical film, Ahsan Khan’s Chupan Chupai is a comedy of errors that features Neelam Muneer as his co-star.

Another film to hit theatres this winter is action thriller Parchi that, according to its producers Hareem Farooq and Imran Raza Kazmi, will blow your mind.

Starring Hareem Farooq as Eman, Ali Rehman Khan as Bash, Ahmed Ali Akbar as Saqlain, Usman Mukhtar as Bilal and Shafqat Khan as Bhola, Parchi’s first official teaser has been unveiled and from the look of things, it is drenched in suspense and action.

The teaser follows five individuals who seem to be on the run and in conflict with each other. Some of it feels ambiguous since there is no explanation as to what these people are actually up to. Drenched in dark tones, we see that one of the characters receives a note (parchi) that states ‘50 lacs 4 days’. Things seem a bit vague but then this is just the teaser. Hopefully upcoming trailers will paint a clearer picture. It is also obvious that Parchi will provide some variety to the audience given its genre. Whether it can surpass the strong numbers set by homegrown romantic comedies remains to be seen but a change in genre is certainly welcome.
