Sana Javed responds to criticism that came to her regarding her trivial role in Yasir Nawaz’s Mehrunisa V Lub U.

The romantic drama strangely titled Mehrunisa V Lub U released on Eid ul Fitr and revolved around a young man Ali, who is married to his childhood sweetheart Mehrunisa and wants to bring about a change in the society he lives in. The film earned a total of Rs 11.98 crores at the box office (until now) and is considered a success, more or less. While Danish Taimoor played the pivotal role of Ali, critics couldn’t help but notice how irrelevant Sana Javed was in her character. She looked beautiful but had very little role to play. She was mostly silent with very few dialogues in the entire film. Most of the reviews on the film referred to her as a beautiful actor but they didn’t say much about her performance.

Speaking to Instep on the subject, Javed contradicted that observation.

“People have appreciated my acting and performance apart from my looks in the film,” she said. “The reviews are mixed but I have mostly received very good and positive reviews. Even if there is any criticism, I take it positively; the film is a hit now. At the end of the day it is the numbers that matter.”

Sharing her experience with Yasir Nawaz’s Mehrunisa V Lub U, Sana added, “I have been very lucky to debut with such a big team and I am glad that the film is a success. It’s a complete package and this is something important. So now when I sign on for a film, I will look for similar elements. I am in talks for my next film but I will be very selective.”

Responding to whether she planned to continue working for television or not, Javed shared that she would be working in TV plays too as there are very few films made each year.

“TV is still a bigger medium than cinema in Pakistan,” she said. If reports are to be believed, Sana will be appearing with Feroze Khan for an upcoming TV play called Khaani which is being directed by Anjum Shahzad.
