Is Farhan Akhtar Bollywood’s Leonardo DiCaprio? We are only saying this because Akhtar is also using his influence to spread awareness about environmental issues, much like DiCaprio who has made it his life’s mission to educate people about the effects of climate change.

Is Farhan Akhtar Bollywood’s Leonardo DiCaprio? We are only saying this because Akhtar is also using his influence to spread awareness about environmental issues, much like DiCaprio who has made it his life’s mission to educate people about the effects of climate change.

Much like DiCaprio, whose documentary, Before the Flood aired on National Geographic, Akhtar will also be hosting a show on the said channel which will show the ecological damage humans are doing to the earth.

The project, titled Mission Blue, will be spreading the message through various means, which includes special documentaries on the water issue, as well as short films by award-winning directors Imtiaz Ali and Madhur Bhandarkar.

“I am proud to be associated with an iconic brand that has the legacy of working for the cause of preserving the planet,” shared Akhtar. “National Geographic Mission Blue is a very special initiative that is very close to my heart. It has the power to enlighten, inspire and empower people who are unaware of what they can do towards the cause of water scarcity and drive real change. I hope people will realize that the responsibility of conserving water and of their own future is essentially in their own hands.”
