Sarmad Khoosat reflects on Pride of Performance award

With some of the most notable projects including Humsafar and Manto to his credit, actor-director Sarmad Sultan Khoosat needs no introduction. After bagging multiple awards for his performance in and as Manto, which he also directed, Khoosat received the prestigious Pride of Performance award for his remarkable contribution to the industry at the inauguration ceremony that was held at the Governor’s House on Pakistan Day.

With some of the most notable projects including Humsafar and Manto to his credit, actor-director Sarmad Sultan Khoosat needs no introduction. After bagging multiple awards for his performance in and as Manto, which he also directed, Khoosat received the prestigious Pride of Performance award for his remarkable contribution to the industry at the inauguration ceremony that was held at the Governor’s House on Pakistan Day.

“I’m just happy and indebted to the country and the people who appreciate the kind of work I do,” Khoosat expressed his gratitude on receiving the award in a quick telephonic conversation with Instep. “It gives a bigger sense of responsibility to live up to and maintain. I am very thankful to everyone who made it possible.”

The award ceremony aimed at honouring those Pakistanis and foreigners who have made exceptional contributions to the country. The Pakistani Civil Awards are considered one of the most distinguished awards to be presented to civilians who have made the nation proud. A total of 23 professionals received the awards. Apart from Khoosat, others who bagged the Pride of Performance award include Dr Muhammad Ashraf Tahir, Abdul Majeed Azhar, Dr Abu Bakar Shahid, Sarmad Sultan, Rashed Mahmood, Javed Iqbal and Ustaad Ashraf Sharif, among others.
