The year 2017, it seems, has not been very kind to food festivals taking place in the country. First, the Karachi Eat Festival got delayed by a week due to torrential rainfall and was rescheduled from January 13 to January 20. Now, the Lahore Eat Festival, which was supposed to commence from February 10 has been postponed for a week, due to security reasons.

“Essentially, there is a security alert for Lahore,” Omar Fazal Jamil, CEO, Latitude CRS (who have collaborated with CKO Event Architecture for the festival) told Instep in a quick telephonic conversation. “On Monday morning, we were informed by the District Coordination Officer that there are a few concerns regarding the security of the city. Since it’s a large scale event, we decided that it’s safe to delay it for a week. We’re hoping that the situation gets better by then and the festival will now begin from February 17.”

We hope the security situation improves in the cultural heartland of Pakistan and the event, scheduled to be held from February 17 till February 19 at Jilani Park, happens peacefully. To avail huge discounts, book your tickets in advance from Easytickets.pk.
