While we’re on the subject of leading men, could Chris Hemsworth, 33 be far behind? The star of films like Rush as well as Marvel’s Thor and Avengers series is having a terrific year. He was recently named GQ Australia’s Man of the Year and is now gearing up to star in the third Thor film plus the fourth Star Trek film and probably a war drama.

Mark Ruffalo, who is co-starring in Thor: Ragnarok alongside Hemsworth had glowing things to say about him.

“Chris is one of those rare talents who’s at once physically perfect while at the same time being truly gifted,” Mark told GQ. “We had such a good time working together on Thor 3. Every day was an experiment and adventure and if we weren’t pushing ourselves out past our comfort zone we weren’t really enjoying ourselves. Chris is one of the most generous and committed actors. He can be very funny and very serious in turns and has a huge range because of this.”

Having starred in the rebooted Star Trek film that released in 2009 in the brief role of George Kirk, the actor is now all set to reprise the role in the fourth installment of the film series. According to confirmed reports, the film will trace the story of Captain James T. Kirk, essayed by Chris Pine, “as he embarks on a journey to meet a man he never had a chance to meet but whose legacy has haunted him the day he was born”. That man will be Hemsworth’s George Kirk, who will return to fight alongside his son in the upcoming sci-fi saga.
