Can anyone get enough of Tom Hiddleston? No, we didn’t think so. Thankfully, the actor who attained global attention after starring in Marvel’s superhero films as Loki, is very active this year, and has been delving into extremely outrageous (in a good way) projects. His fans will be seeing him in the new King Kong movie, as well as the dystopian flick, High-Rise.

Turns out, Hiddleston will also be starring in Ben Wheatley’s Hard Boiled, an adaptation of a Frank Miller’s graphic novel. This will be Hiddleston’s second collaboration with Ben Wheatley, who also directed High-Rise. Just how insane this film will be can be predicted based on the official synopsis of the comic, published in the year 1990: “Carl Seltz is a suburban insurance investigator, a loving husband and devoted father. Nixon is a berserk, homicidal tax collector, racking up mind-boggling body counts in a diseased urban slaughterhouse. Unit Four is the ultimate robot killing machine – and the last hope of the future’s enslaved mechanical servants. And they’re all the same psychotic entity. Of course, this character is being played by Hiddleston.”

According to The Guardian, “an adaptation of Hard Boiled has been in the works since at least since 2001, when Warner Bros hired David Fincher as director and cast Nicolas Cage in the lead role.”

Should this film happen, it will put to test Hiddleston’s acting prowess. Will he pull a Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) and play several entities with flair, time will tell.
