U.S.-born Pakistani-American actor Faran Tahir, whose acting career spans over three decades, has appeared in a number of prolific Hollywood productions such as Iron Man, Star Trek, Elysium and The Jungle Book. After leaving a strong impression on the audience world over with diverse performances over the years, Tahir is now gearing up for the shooting of American TV series, Prison Break.
The actor took to social media and revealed that he will be playing the “recurring role of Jamil” in the fifth season of the popular crime-drama series. Currently Tahir is shooting for the series with other cast members in Morocco as the production is already underway. Behind-the-scenes images circulating on social media hint that Tahir shares a good rapport with the cast and crew of the TV show and was spotted having dinner with some of them.
Prison Break’s upcoming fifth season will consist of nine episodes and the full season is scheduled to hit TV screens later this September. Similar to the previous four seasons, this series will also follow the story of brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, essayed by actors Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. The two lead stars will be joined by an all-star cast that will include names like Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar, Amaury Nolasco, and Sarah Wayne Callies. Other than Faran Tahir, Prison Break 5 will also feature some new faces.
How the TV audience responds to this resurrection, time will tell but with Tahir attached to the project, our curiosity is definitely piqued.
