Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s new film Gangubai Kathiawadi has caused a major legal upheaval for the crew in regards to film rights and alleged defamation.
According to the court summons, Gangubai’s adopted son decided to take Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali to court over wrongful portrayal and factually incorrect representation.
For those unversed, the upcoming film is based on a book by Hussain Zaidi, titled Mafia Queens of Mumbai and details the life story of a brothel owner, played by Alia Bhatt.
Reportedly even Hussain Zaidi is supposed to join Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali in court on May 21st.
