KARACHI: After the Pakistan Super League - 2019 concluded in Karachi, a tournament XI has been named by ESPNcricinfo, a sports website, on the basis of individual performances of the players in the fourth edition.
Sarfraz Ahmed, captain of Pakistan cricket team and PSL champions Quetta Gladiators, has been selected to lead the PSL XI, which includes four foreign and seven local players picked from the participants of the tournament.
The names of the players (in batting order) with their teams are mentioned below:
1- Kamran Akmal (Peshawar Zalmi), 2- Shane Watson (Quetta Gladiators), 3- Colin Ingram (Karachi Kings), 4- AB de Villiers (Lahore Qalandars), 5- Umar Akmal (Quetta Gladiators), 6- Sarfraz Ahmed – captain & wk – (Quetta Gladiators), 7- Faheem Ashraf (Islamabad United), 8- Wahab Riaz (Peshawar Zalmi), 9- Hasan Ali (Peshawar Zalmi), 10- Sandeep Lamichhane (Lahore Qalandars), 11- Mohammad Hasnain (Quetta Gladiators).
A day earlier, the Pakistan Super League had also announced their tournament XI and named AB de Villiers of South Africa and Lahore Qalandars to lead the team.
They ignored Sarfraz, who led Quetta Gladiators to clinch the trophy in the PSL - 2019. He was not named the captain nor included as a player in their XI.
Sarfraz captained the team in all the four editions of PSL. The Gladiators were the runners-up in the first two editions.
