Taliban founder Mullah Omar spent last 7 years in this tiny room in Afghanistan
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has confirmed the residence of Mullah Omar in Zabul by sharing the photos of his mud house saying “The room in Zabul Afghanistan where Mullah Omar lived."
KABUL: Taliban founder Mullah Omar lived in a small room and spent last 7 years and five months of his life, the photos of the mud house have surfaced on the social media.
The photos have gone viral a day after Dutch journalist Bette Dam in her book, “Searching for an Enemy” revealed that Mullah Omar Taliban founder lived within walking distance of US bases in Afghanistan for years, according to a new book that highlights embarrassing failures of American intelligence.
Washington believed the one-eyed, fugitive leader had fled to Pakistan, but the new biography says Omar was in fact living just three miles from a major US Forward Operating Base in his home province of Zabul before his death in 2013.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has confirmed the residence of Mullah Omar in Zabul by sharing the photos of his mud house saying “The room in Zabul where Mullah Omar lived. Mullah Sahib lead IEA from this tiny room and stayed there until his passing away. Mullah Sahib used to sunbathe in the small garden with roses.”
Sharing the photos, Taliban spokesman says, “This is the room where late Amir ul Mumineen Mullah Muhammad Omar Mujahid spend the last 7 years and five months of his life and also passed away in.”
He also shared the front of the room, where Mullah Omar lived.
He further says “More documented details will be published in a soon to be released book.”
