Former cricketer Wasim Akram singing praises for Prime Minister Imran Khan thinks the country has taken a giant leap since the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government took charge of office.

With the ample praises pouring in for the premier following his statement regarding the Nobel Peace Prize campaign started in the wake of Indo-Pak tensions, the sports star exalting the leader has stated that as per the perspective of the public, he is already in possession of the prize.

“Our country has taken a gigantic step in the right direction since you became our leader. The people of our nation are positive and feel safe for the first time in years. Skipper, you don’t need to be awarded the Nobel Peace prize, in our eyes you already have it!”, he stated on Twitter.

The tweet was in response to PM Khan’s statement regarding the prize issued earlier today: “I am not worthy of the Nobel Peace prize. The person worthy of this would be the one who solves the Kashmir dispute according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people and paves the way for peace & human development in the subcontinent.”

Subsequent to the tension that came afloat after the Pulwama attack between India and Pakistan, the prime minister has been widely lauded for his pacifying ways of dealing with the hostility and de-escalating them further, by releasing captured pilot Abhinandan which has led to many endorsing his nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize this year.
