Women’s PSL should be introduced, says Sana Mir
Sharing the idea, Sana Mir said that initially the PSL women could be start with two or three teams and later it could be expanded to six team of the country.
ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan Women cricket team captain Sana Mir said that women’s version of Pakistan Super League (PSL) should be introduced to attract female cricketers in the country.
Commending PSL, she said that it is a wonderful initiative of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that has become a popular brand, adding that Paksiatn women’s team has been playing international cricket for the last ten years and maintained its ranking in the top ten slots.
“We just defeated West Indies and we have been playing good cricket. Deandra Dottin came to Pakistan to play and I think it was a big message and I think it is time we introduced a women’s version of the PSL” she made the remarks during her interaction with private news channel.
Sharing the idea, Sana Mir said that initially the PSL women could be start with two or three teams and later it could be expanded to six team of the country.
Replying to a question about the Lahore Qalandars Players Development Programme for women,he said it was a wonderful initiative that would give a chance to those girls who cannot come out and play cricket like the girls in Karachi and Lahore.
She further said It was an excellent initiative to explore new talent and groomed them to play for Pakistan. She lauded West player,saying said “I’m a fan of Darren Sammy’s captaincy.”
