Gal Gaddot turns down offer to host Eurovision Song Contest in Israel

Since Gal Gaddot has found international fame, she has almost never taken part in any public or industry events in Israel, says a report that came after Wonder Woman actor turned down invitation to host next year's Eurovision Song Contest in her country.

Scheduling constrains and previous commitments that Godot's representative have cited aside, a Jerusalem Post report said it is unclear whether the actor would want to take part in an event already under call for boycott from some sectors.

Currently, she is filming the sequel to "Wonder Woman", which is expected to release next year.

Earlier, The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Mícheál Mac Donncha, called for Ireland to boycott the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, due to the fact that it will be held in Israel.

Councillor Mac Donncha thinks Ireland should stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and not enter a participant for next year’s contest.

TV host Mike Murphy and Eurovision winner Charlie McGettigan also called for Ireland to boycott next year’s song contest in Israel.

Born and raised in Israel, Gal Gaddot was crowned Miss Isreal at age 18 in 2004.

She served for two years as an enlisted soldier in the Israel Defense Forces, as a combat instructor.
