People-to-people contact vital to improve Pak-US ties: Aizaz Chaudhry
Dallas: Pakistani Ambassador to US Aizaz Chaudhry has underscored the importance of people-to-people contact to improve bilateral ties between two countries.
“There have been ups and downs between Pakistan and the US at governmental level, but people to people level contacts have always been very healthy,” said Chaudhry while speaking at a seminar hosted by Pak America Business Forum on Tuesday.
He urged traders, entrepreneur and other Pakistani Americans to act as a bridge between Pakistan and the US to improve trade ties. The youth should lead the movement in this regard, he stressed.
“Pakistani Americans have acquired high status in the US and coming generation will be advocate for Pakistan.”
He said that traders and entrepreneurial organizations should form youth wings in their groups so that they can transfer knowledge and experience to them. “If you are strong in your society you can be of greater service to Pakistan.”
He said that law and order situation had improved in Pakistan, resulting in more foreign investment.
Forum’s President Waqar Khan and other officer bearers Anwar Azam, Hafiz Riaz and others also addressed the event.
Pakistan Council General in Houston Aisha Farooqi also addressed the gathering.
