Emma Watson speaks out in support of Kathua rape victim's lawyer
The case of eight-year-old Asifa Bano’s rape and murder in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district that had ignited a massive outrage all across the world, is being fought by Deepika Singh Rajawat.
Hollywood’s leading lady Emma Watson is known and adored for being vocal for social justice issues and she is making headlines after she tweeted in support of the lawyer of the Kathua rape victim.
The case of eight-year-old Asifa Bano’s rape and murder in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district that had ignited a massive outrage all across the world, is being fought by Deepika Singh Rajawat. The lawyer is now being lauded by the Harry Potter star as well after one of her pictures where she can be seen walking fearlessly went viral.
"All power to Deepika Singh Rajawat," stated the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in response to an article applauding the lawyer for the valor and obstinate stance she displayed in taking up the case.
A picture of Rajawat had been circulating online where she could be seen walking fearlessly amongst a group of men. The lawyer instantly became popular for putting on a professional demeanor all the while redefining portrayal of females.
Rajawat had been an advocate for the family of the minor rape victim Asifa, whose body was recovered from Kathua’s Rassana forest on January 17, 2018, a week after she disappeared.
