Fawad Alam is ignored again and social media is up in arms

Following the selection of squad for the upcoming Tests in Ireland and England in which national selectors opted for Inzimam-ul-Haq’s nephew Imam-ul-Haq over Fawad Alam, a large number of people have been expressing their disapproval with the decision that is deeply rooted in prejudice, as they believe.

According to many, despite having more experience than Imam-ul-Haq, Fawad Alam was left out at the altar, based on familial preferences.

Among the many that have out-rightly criticised the selection of Imam-ul-Haq at the expense of alienated Fawad, is ace cricketer Wasim Akram and sports journalist Dennis Freedman.

"Players play domestic circuit in view of getting an opportunity to play international cricket. I can’t understand why Fawad is not getting an opportunity, he is still out from the squad despite scoring runs in domestic on an average of 50 in the last three-four years. It's beyond me,” said the former fast bowler.

On the other hand, Dennis tweeted:

Senior journalist Mazhar Abbas, regarding the matter, stated that the biasness shown by chief selector Inzimam indicates injustice which is in any form ‘a threat to justice’.

Yahya Hussaini just wanted justice for Fawad Alam.

Other internet users on the other hand   repeatedly made sure to speak regarding this issue on Twitter and other social media platforms too.

What people are more concerned about is the fact that Fawad Alam boasts a sound career-record in comparison to that of Imam-ul-Haq’s.

Having a tally of 10,742 runs at a staggering average of 55.37, Fawad is far more experienced than Imam; with the latter  being able to muster only 222 runs at a below-average of 27.75 in five games, despite managing to make an impressive international cricket debut against Sri Lanka in October last year.
