World’s oldest camera sold for record-break price
Only 25 pieces of this master creation were produced by Ernst Leitz in 1923, out of which only three are said to be in their original form up till now. This Leica 0-series has broken the previous Leica’s record of $2.67 million, sold in 2012.

At the WestLicht auction house in Vienna, world’s oldest camera, Leica was sold off for a price of $ 2.97 million. The Leica 0-series 122 has become the World’s most expensive camera in all of history. The record-breaking auction reflects on the camera’s remarkable condition.
Only 25 pieces of this master creation were produced by Ernst Leitz in 1923, out of which only three are said to be in their original form up till now. This Leica 0-series has broken the previous Leica’s record of $2.67 million, sold in 2012.
"This world record price of 2.4 million Euro demonstrates the ongoing and ever-growing myth of the Leica brand," said the Leica majority owner and chairman board Andreas Kaufmann.
