Quetta Gladiators restrict Lahore Qalandars to 119-9

DUBAI: Quetta Gladiators overcame Lahore Qalandars blistering batting when Jofra Archer and Mohammad Nawaz started taking wickets at regular intervals and restricted them to a low score of 119 runs for nine wickets in the fifth Twenty20 match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) – 3 here at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

The Qalandars, after being sent into bat, made 60 off just five overs but later they scored 59 off the next 15 overs.

Nawaz stood out with the most economical spell in the history of PSL as he claimed two wickets for only four runs from four overs with one maiden while Archer was the most successful bowler with three for 23.

For Lahore Qalandars, both openers Brandan McCullum (30) and Sunil Narine (28) were the main scorers, making 46 off just 21 balls for the first wicket.

They were followed by Sohail Akhtar (20 not out), Cameron Delport (15) and Gulzar Sadaf (13). None of the other batsmen could get into the double figures.
