Indian couple demanded guests to gift them bitcoins rather than traditional gifts for their wedding.
This Bangalore-based couple planned the suggestion for this cryptocurrency a month ago before their wedding that took place on December 9, just four days after India's central bank issued its third warning cautioning investors against buying Bitcoins.
Only 15 of the nearly 200 wedding guests gave the happy couple "traditional gifts". They received received Bitcoin worth 100,000 rupees ($1,559).
The couple intended to sell the bitcoins to fund initiatives that educate underprivileged children.
