With the launch of film Simran’s trailer on Tuesday in Mumbai, it has brought much of the excitement among the audience. The main lead of the film, Kangana Ranaut made her appearance on the launch.

The lead actress was asked many questions at the launch, several of them regarding the controversy that has grabbed light in the recent days. The controversy surrounding Kangana, were the credits given to her as the ‘additional dialogue and story-writer’. To which Apurva (writer) cried stating that the actor tried to discredit his work by saying that she developed the story with Hansal Mehta (director).

Kangana accentuated over the importance of dialogue improvisation in the character-driven films. She further commented on the matter saying Apurva Asrani’s all dues have been cleared.

“There are two kinds of films, story-driven and character-driven. Movies, which are character-driven, require actors to improvise dialogues so that the character looks relatable and there is a flow. Simran is focused on one character so I had told Hansal sir that I would do my own dialogues” Kangana said in an interview with Indian Express.

Later, Apurva clarified and said, “Yes, she has contributed to dialogues, and yes, the producers have done the right thing by correcting the credits on the new poster. I now have top billing as story, screenplay and dialogue writer. I am happy I have got my dues and I want to just move on.”

“I will not participate in the negativity nor in the changing narratives of the Simran credit controversy. I spoke out then because news reports claimed Kangana called herself the writer of the film and the first poster awarded her a writing credit over mine. But now the error of the previous poster has been corrected and fair credits have been awarded”, he added.

Apurva’s father also commented over the dispute and stated, “I hope that people will refrain from provoking either party to fight, and instead take joy in the fact that the trailer of our labour of love is being well received. We hope people see the joy in our film that releases in 5 weeks.”

The story of ‘Simran’ revolves around ‘Praful Patel’, played by Kangana, who is a playful yet a kleptomaniac person. The film will hit the screens on 15th of September 2017.
