BRIDGETOWN: Teenage leg-spinner Shadab Khan captured three vital wickets on his international debut as Pakistan comfortably defeated West Indies by six wickets in first T20 at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Sunday night.
West Indies were restricted to 111 for eight after they were sent to bat by Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed.
The West Indies began a disastrous start and their batsmen could not resist against the Pakistani bowlers.
The 18-year-old bowler, who displayed an impressive performance in the Pakistan Super League, finished with three for seven in four overs.
Carlos Brathwaite top scored with 34 runs followed by Chadwick Walton who made 18.
Chasing the target, Ahmad Shehzad and Kamran Akmal gave the green shirts a decent start but Shehzad fell after scoring 13 runs.
Wickets of Kamran Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez gave little hope to the West Indies but 46-run partnership between Shoaib Malik and Babar Azam took Pakistan close to the target.
Azam got out after 29. Shoaib Malik remained 38 not out and took the green shirts over the line.
