DUBAI: Kamran Akmal smashed the first century of the second Pakistan Super League (PSL) here at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday night.

He blasted 104 runs off just 65 balls with seven sixes and six fours to steer Peshawar Zalmi to a big total of 181 for three after being sent into bat by Karachi Kings captain Kumar Sangakkara in the third Play-off of the PSL.

Kamran was involved in the first two big partnerships, making 97 along with Dawid Malan for the first wicket and then 77 with Marlon Samuels for the second.

Malan scored 36 off 31 balls and Samuels 37 off 22 balls while star batsman Shahid Afridi got a first-ball duck.

For Karachi Kings, fast bowlers Mohammad Amir and Sohail Khan claimed one wicket each for 31 and 32, respectively.

Peshawar Zalmi, who narrowly lost the first Play-off, have another chance to  qualify for the final if they defeat Karachi Kings tonight. The winners will join Quetta Gladiators for the final in Lahore.
