CARACAS: At least 11 people were killed Friday and 14 injured in an early morning bus crash in the eastern Venezuelan state of Bolivar, the interior ministry said.
The bus flipped over as it was traveling along a major thoroughfare connecting the state capital Ciudad Bolivar and the town of Santa Elena de Uairen near the Brazil border.
Injured passengers were ferried to hospitals across Venezuela according to news reports, which said officials fear the toll could climb.
Authorities gave no explanation as to what might have caused the crash.
