Taylor Lautner fans laud clever attempt with first born's name

Taylor Lautner just lived up to expectations with the name reveal of his first child, sharing a first glimpse of life as a girl dad.

Taylor and wife Tay Lautner welcomed their baby girl on September 16. Sharing a photo of the newborn, whose face wasn't shown, the couple revealed her name through a threadwork embroidery design in the image.

"One week loving our sweet little Lenny. Lennon Taylor Lautner 9.16.2026," the caption read.

Fans rushed to the comments after realising the actor had actually doubled down on a running joke about sharing nearly the same name as his wife.

"I love that you did actually put Taylor in there, it was too good of an opportunity to pass up," one fan wrote. 

"The Taylor dynasty," a second person added. "I appreciate that the middle name is Taylor," said another. Someone else chimed in, "Obsessed that you kept Taylor in the name, you HAD to."

Taylor, 34, and Tay, 29, first announced they were expecting in March. "What's better than two Taylor Lautners?" the actor joked in an Instagram caption at the time, along with a photo of himself kissing Tay's baby bump. 

The following month, the couple shared footage of the moment they found out they were having a girl.

While Tay said she "didn't really care" about the baby's sex, she revealed on Call Her Daddy in August that Taylor had been hoping for a daughter all along. "He's, like, girl dad," she said. "He wants all girls."

She also teased that Taylor was on their list of potential baby names, admitting, "I feel like if I don't name my baby Taylor, the Internet's literally gonna cancel me." 

She added that the couple had previously joked about naming a future son Taylor as well, planning to call him "T.J." for short.

Tay and Taylor began dating in 2018 after being introduced by his sister. He proposed in November 2021, and the two tied the knot in Templeton, California, the following year.
