Tiger Woods to face Florida court Wednesday for change of plea hearing

Tiger Woods is scheduled to appear in a Florida court on Wednesday for a change of plea hearing in his DUI case, according to court records.

Woods was charged after a rollover crash near his home in Martin County in March and according to an arrest affidavit cited by CNN, Woods failed a sobriety test following the crash.

He denied drinking alcohol but told deputies he had taken “a few” prescription medications earlier that day. Authorities also said prescription opioids were found in his pocket.

Woods pleaded not guilty in March to misdemeanour charges of driving under the influence and refusing to submit to testing and also received a traffic violation for careless driving.

He had initially been scheduled to return to court on September 8.

Court records now show Woods is expected at a plea conference at the Martin County Courthouse at 8:30 AM on Wednesday.

It remains unclear how Woods intends to change his plea or whether an agreement has been reached with prosecutors.
