However, the royal family’s official Instagram account shared a glimpse of the royal appearance on August 18.

The captioon on the Story read, “As Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh has visited Dance Base in Scotland.”

As the charity’s work stretches beyond dancers and artists, “On a recent visit, HRH visited dance artists during a rehearsal and learnt more about the way the charity supports the wider community,” it added.

It concluded by highlighting the work of the organization, “Based in Edinburgh, the charity supports dance artists, international exchange students and community projects across its four studios, helping more people benefit from the inspiration and empowerment that comes through dance.”

It is pertinent to mention that the charity was established almost three decades ago, in 1993 and follows a mission to promote all forms of dance. It was founded by the Artistic Director, Morag Deyes from 1994 to 2021.

Moreover, its dedicated, specially designed home was opened in 2001, in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket.

For those unaware, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh has serves as a Royal Patron and supporter of the Dance Base since June 24, 2025.
