Prince William hosts defenders of the UK as leader of ‘Silent Service’

As Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Navy Submarine Service, Prince William hosted an event at Windsor Castle this week, according to a statement issued by Kensington Palace on Friday.
It said serving submariners and veterans gathered to mark the 125th anniversary of the Royal Navy Submarine Service.
The evening brought together, “Serving submariners and veterans for a memorable evening at Windsor this week to celebrate a remarkable milestone in the history of the Silent Service.”
“For 125 years, submariners have operated in some of the most challenging environments, demonstrating professionalism, resilience and quiet dedication in service to their country,” the statement said.
The Prince of Wales said, “As Commodore-in-Chief, it was an honour to celebrate those who have supported the Service through history, and recognise the vital role submariners play in the defence of the United Kingdom.”
