King Charles arrives at Balmoral Castle
Royal family says in a statement that King Charles has been busy in Scotland this month
Buckingham Palace on Tuesday announced the arrival of King Charles at Balmoral Castle for the summer.
A statement said, “Welcomed by a Guard of Honour formed by The Royal Regiment of Scotland, His Majesty also met Corporal Cruachan IV, the Shetland Pony mascot of the Regiment.”
According to the statement, “This year’s arrival ceremony also featured the first two members of the revived Balmoral Highlanders, something The King has re-established following its disbandment in 1936. Both the new Highlanders are employees of the Balmoral Estate and will also take part in the Braemar Gathering in September.”
It added, “His Majesty has been busy in Scotland this August, attending the Castle of Mey Games, meeting the Assynt Mountain Rescue team, and engaging with the communities of Halkirk and Castletown, including opening a distillery housed in a restored former mill building. “
