Sarah Ferguson faces biggest slap in the face from Eugenie: ‘She was shared even by Beatrice’

Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, and ex-wife of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is facing yet another emotional woe, and this time it comes straight from her own daughter.

For those unversed, this comes as a result of Princess Eugenie’s decision to not name her daughter after her mother, despite saying the entire choice for her name features borrowed bits from “three people we love and admire past and present”.

Now a source has come forward with insight into the overwhelming pain that Fergie feels after being left out of the nod.

They spoke to New Idea when delivering this revelation and claim, “Adelaide was always a special name for Eugenie – she wore Queen Adelaide’s diamond earrings as hair ornaments when she married Jack, the happiest day of her life.”

Moreover, the third part of her name, Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank is “after Eugenie’s best friend – and possible godmother to Adelaide – the Countess Annina Bruges von Pfuel [a Bavarian costume/set designer whose wedding Eugenie attended in 2024],” according to the insider.

They also say, “of course, Elizabeth was always going to be one of her baby girl’s names, but the glaring omissions are, of course, ‘Sarah’ or ‘Margaret’.”

While separated by distance, “Sarah tried not to be upset when Beatrice didn’t use either of her names for her two girls, but that was before she was exiled in shame,” the insider noted. However, she ‘wouldn’t dare’ now to “even expect Eugenie to honour her in this way, not now, not after the Epstein nightmare.” But “it doesn’t make it any easier, knowing she’ll be lucky if she ever gets to spend time with her new granddaughter,” regardless.

As for the announcement that blew this all up, it was featured on her Instagram account and reads, “2 weeks ago today we welcomed our girl to the world. And since then we've had the most special, cosy and love-filled time.”
