Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez turn 'friendship' into 'romance' again

In 2015, Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez reportedly dated. However, the pair split a year later.

Now, nearly a decade later, an insider revealed something budding may be taking place between them.

According to the source, the pop icon and Alvares were in touch despite the break-up.

As proof, the insider told People, “Ariana has always considered Ricky a friend."

“She’s not held ill will against him [since their split]," the source added.

"Ricky is dependable, trustworthy and very supportive. Ariana feels she can be herself around Ricky," the insider said.

Both of them, the source said, "have a similar, smart, dry sense of humour."

However, the insider stressed that this doesn't mean the pair are hopping onto a whirlwind romance just yet.

“They’re not jumping into anything serious right away, but Ari is happy to have him back in her life."

Despite the reporting by an unnamed source, rumours were hard to shake off about Grande and Alvarez having a thing after they reportedly spent the Fourth of July weekend in Florida together.

Beyond the romance life, the megastar is almost reaching half of her otherwise 41-date Eternal Sunshine tour.

Meanwhile, her much-awaited eighth studio album, Petal, will be released this month.
