Hilary Duff reflects on 'Lizzie McGuire' legacy
Hilary Duff opens up about becoming a millennial icon
Hilary Duff talked about the lasting impact of her early career.
In an interview with People Magazine, the actress and singer reflected on the connection she has built with audiences over the years through her hit Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire.
Duff said, "I hear that a lot from people, [that I was an important part of their childhood], and I wear a badge of honor."
For those unaware, Duff made her debut in 1998's Casper Meets Wendy before becoming a household name as the star of Lizzie McGuire in 2001. She also appeared in films like Cadet Kelly, Agent Cody Banks, A Cinderella Story, Cheaper by the Dozen and The Lizzie McGuire Movie.
Notably, the actress also enjoyed thriving music career alongside her acting success with albums Metamorphosis, Hilary Duff and Dignity.
Earlier this year, she returned to live performances and also delighted audiences with hits like So Yesterday, Come Clean, Wake Up and With Love.
Duff has also added What Dream Are Made Of from the Lizzie McGuire movie to her concert set list for the first time. She told the outlet, "What’s been so fun about the live shows is realizing how much the old songs mean to people."
"A lot of those songs just live rent-free in my head, so it’ll be nice for the other music to catch up and join the mix.
"It’s this very cool way to connect in our lives now — everyone’s grown up, and we feel like we have a lot of the same life experiences. It’s like more real-world s---, and it’s fun to mix those two together," Hilary Duff also added.
