FDA upgrades Alfredo sauce recall affecting 41 states to ‘highest risk’ level
The recall impacts 913 cases of Alfredo sauce which are packaged in 3-pound, 7-ounce sealed poly bags with12 bags per case
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has reportedly issued a high-risk call for more than 900 cases of Alfredo after a supplier called a bacterial contamination powder ingredient.
Keeping in view the current situation, the FDA designated this action as a class one recall; meanwhile its most adverse health serious classification reserved for products that could cause health consequences or death.
The recall impacts 913 cases of Alfredo sauce which are packaged in 3-pound, 7-ounce sealed poly bags with12 bags per case, in line to an FDA enforcement report.
According to the FDA reporting, the product was largely distributed across 41 states, including few names as follows:
- Mississippi
- Montana
- North Carolina
- Nebraska
- New Hampshire
- New Jersey
- New Mexico
- New York
- Ohio
- Oklahoma
- Oregon
- Pennsylvania
- Rhode Island
- South Carolina
- South Dakota
- Tennessee
- Texas, Utah
- Virginia Alabama
- Arkansas, Arizona
- California
Salmonella can leave a significant effect on the health of young children, and people with weakened immune systems.
The FDA cautioned people to take extra care and even healthy people infected with salmonella often experience fever, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
It is pertinent to mention that the FDA’s enforcement report underlines that no press release was issued for the recall, and it does not specify whether any illness or adverse reactions have been documented.
