Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes has broken the Premier League record for most assists in a single season as he provided for Patrick Dorgu to score during clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

It follows on from Fernandes' FWA Footballer of the Year award win, the 31 years pipping Arsenal star Declan Rice to the accolade, having excelled as the club earned a top-three finish.

Fernandes had already tied the record of 20 assists, shared by Arsenal's Thierry Henry and Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne but now the football star stands alone as the player with the most assists in a single Premier League season after he notched his 21st of the campaign against Brighton.
The assist record caps has been a superb individual campaign for Fernandes, who has played an instrumental role in Manchester United's UEFA Champions League finish.
The star was named the Premier League Player of the Season, becoming the first Manchester United player to win the award since Nemanja Vidic in the 2010/11 season.
