"There’s no denying that J.Lo still thinks Brett’s a lovely guy - but it was never going to turn into anything serious for her," the insider said.

The confidant further said, "She saw him as a rebound. Brett’s very sweet on her, but he just doesn’t tick all her boxes. You have to feel sorry for him."

"Word on set was they were busted cosying up in her trailer on more than one occasion. It was exactly what J.Lo needed, and she still has a lot of affection for Brett - except it’s turned into a friendzone scenario," continued the source.

A tipster added, "To his credit, he’s been extremely classy and kept his mouth shut about their time together, which is a big relief for J.Lo.’

Jennifer and Brett sparked dating rumors in May 2025 when they were seen getting cozy on the set of Office Romance.

"They’re both professional and ready to deliver their lines when the cameras are rolling, but in between, it’s a flirt fest," an insider said at that time.

"Brett fawns all over Jennifer, and she’s absolutely loving the attention. He is so adoring, which is exactly what she needs right now," added the source.
