Rege Jean Page lifts lid on reality behind Met Gala: 'Very vulnerable place'
The actor revealed what no one tells you about Met Gala
Rege Jean Page is getting honest about his encounters at the Met Gala.
The 'Bridgerton' star, who has attended the annual, invitation-only charity fundraiser event twice, articulated his opinion that the event is not what people perceive.
“What no one tells you about the Met Gala is that everyone, almost everyone, is on their own,” he told Esquire in a recent interview published on Monday.
He went on to explain, “There’s the most glamorous room, the most exclusive echelon of society, all utterly lost and alone and searching for connection.”
Rege admitted, despite being fully dressed for the star-studded event its a "very vulnerable place."
“You’re dressed as well as you’re ever going to be dressed, but you’re also in a very vulnerable place, ready to lean on your costar immediately."
And that co-star for Rege was Halle Bailey, who starred in the rom-com 'You, Me & Tuscany.'
Rege was not the only one who spoke about their unexpected experience at the Met Gala.
Billie Eilish previously shared similar sentiments on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show in 2021.
"The main thing that night made me think or feel was how famous people are just literally nobodies. Just randos, and it's so weird," Eilish said. "I was like, 'Wow, all these people are just somebody that's in class with you,' and you think this person's kinda annoying, you really like this person, you get along with this person, and everybody's just, like, embarrassed and insecure about what they're doing and saying."
