Savannah Guthrie may rejoin 'Today' as producers push for return
Savannah Guthrie is currently focused on the search for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie
Today producers reportedly want to bring Savannah Guthrie back to the show.
On March 5, Savannah visited the morning show’s NYC studio for the first time since her mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing.
During her visit, the 55-year-old met with her colleagues and assured her team that she would return.
“Savannah told the staff she loves this team and she loves this job,” the source told Shuter. “She promised them she will come back.”
While the journalist is currently focused on the search for the 84-year-old, she assured her team members that “her mom would want her to keep going."
Following her visit, another source told the outlet that Today's producers are actively planning her return.
“There have already been meetings about it,” the source claimed. “They want to acknowledge what Savannah has been going through, but they also want to do their job and deliver the news.”
“Everyone knows this is Savannah’s chair,” added the insider. “But right now the focus is simply supporting her until she’s ready.”
For those unversed, Savannah's mom was kidnapped from her Arizona home on February 1.
