Prince William issues emotional statement after deadly conservation attack
Prince William, the Prince of Wales issued an emotional statement following a deadly attack at Upemba National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Earlier this week, an armed attack at the park saw five staff members killed. Furthermore, equipment at the park's headquarters was looted and infrastucture also suffered extensive damage in atragic incident.
On Instagram stories, Kingston Palace shared a message from the future King of Britain, mourning the fallen rangers after attack in Congo National Park.
In the message, William stated, "I am truly saddened to hear of the tragic loss of life at Upemba National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, following an armed raid of the park earlier this week."
He went on to add, "Environmental protection has become one of the most dangerous jobs on the planet and the bravery of those on the frontline of conservation must never be forgotten."
"My thoughts are with the families and friends of the park staff who lost their lives defending our natural world," Prince William concluded, signing off with his initial "W."
