Prince Harry to visit South Korea for major event in 2029?
“I AM Coming to the Republic of Korea!"
Prince Harry, who is the founder of the Invictus Games, will most likely visit South Korea in 2029 after his foundation made a major announcement about the big event.
The Invictus Games Foundation announced on its social media that South Korea will host 2029 games.
Following a very competitive international bidding process, the Invictus Games Foundation’s Board has selected Daejeon as the successful bid.
The next stage will see the Foundation and the Daejeon 2029 organising team work together to finalise the Event Hosting Agreement, after which detailed planning will begin, as they are set to take place with 12 sports from 6–15 October 2029 and bring together around 550 competitors from 26 nations supported by 1,100 family members and friends.
The charity said, “I AM Coming to the Republic of Korea!
“The Invictus Games Foundation is delighted to announce that Daejeon, Republic of Korea, has been selected to host the Invictus Games in 2029.”
The Invictus Games Daejeon 2029 will be the ninth edition of the Games and the first ever to be held in Asia, marking a significant opportunity for the continued growth of the international Invictus Movement.
“We would like to thank Aalborg, Denmark, and San Diego, United States, for their outstanding bids. Their passion, vision and commitment made this one of the strongest and most competitive host city processes to date,” the statement further reads.
The Invictus Games Daejeon 2029 will bring together competitors from across the growing Invictus Community of Nations, united by the belief that sport has the power to support recovery, rebuild confidence, strengthen families and communities, and demonstrate the unconquered human spirit.
